This afternoon I started my Winter Solstice box. It is a box filled with little scraps of paper of all the things that have been bothering me, people who have hurt me, situations where I am holding anger, unresolved situations. On the outside I have a note that says, "The black moment is the moment when the real message of transformation is going to come. At the darkest moments comes the light". And, "Goodbye past. I set you free, never to return.". From now until solstice I will continue to fill the box then on the 21st I will burn it.

Today was an OK day. We out up our tree which makes me glad. Also for the first time I was able to set up my winter village. I would take a picture but I am too tired and it taxes my brain. You know the little porcelain buildings with a light inside? It took me forever to get all the cords covered with the fake snow but it looks nice. Before now I never had the room but I have been buying pieces for years. One of the building is a post office and since my husband just retired from the post office I took the light out and put a 'closed' sign in the front.

OK, it is time for my bath then bed.

  1. I LOVE your Winter Solstice box. It would have to be a Summer Solstice box for me now, but I may just work on it. Thank you. And I am thrilled that today was OK. Long may it continue.

  3. I love winter villages. They still aren't that popular here in the UK but I have a small set but I haven't put it out this year.

The Solstice box sounds a good idea.

  4. Good for you! And I am so happy that you got out your tree and your winter village. I know I should get out some decorations but just can't bring myself to do it this year. Look how strong you are!

  8. Your husband picked a good time to retire from the post office -- ahead of the massive cuts that are coming!

  15. If I had a winter solstice box, it would be the size of a trunk.
    Just saying.
Best to vent my thoughts on the blog, harms less trees.
