My New Blog!

OK, so what do you think of my new look?  You all know I love crows and Cat from Catalina's Cottage offered to give my blog a new look.  I am so happy with it.  I think it is perfect!  Yay!

I am going back to work today and I am having a medium sized panic attack over it.  Yesterday I cried a fair amount.  I don't think I will cry when I am with my patients but I feel all jingle-jangled.  (I just made that phrase up.  Where that came from I do not know.)

Norbert still has a big abscess on his back and is not getting better despite all the treatment I have given him.  I went and purchased this today.  He is still eating and drinking but definitely lethargic.  Of course he is still being an Ungrateful Bastard.  Do you think he has even thanked me once for draining his pus-filled abscess (gag) four to six times a day? Oh no.  He growls and  hisses and tries to bite.  I know it hurts him but still.  He is also in a pissy mood because I won't let him go outside and I know he is going to try to kill me in my sleep because I am making him wear the cone of shame.

OK. I need to go to work.  I am getting a drastically new haircut today.  Pictures tomorrow!

Later that day - I need to write this first part quickly before the moment  is no longer.  Right now my kids are unloading the dishwasher, having a conversation and getting along! Sorry, but that just does not happen in this house very often.
Work was OK today. I also got my hair chopped very short and I am very happy with it.  I am really tired tonight and looking forward to bed.

  4. Thanks Birdie for the comment and The help. I moved my followers up. Find a Grave is where memorials are made for graves and goes hand in hand with genealogy. If you want to be a volunteer you sign up under contributor and then you will receive emails from FAG when a graveyard in your driving distance is requesting a photo of a loved ones grave. They are usually people that cant travel to your area or are making a memorial. On my genealogy blog there is a tab called OUR RESTING PLACES. It has a link to FAG. I get a lot of requests now and I drive a fifty mike radiance where I started out a fifteen mile area. I walk the grave they send me with the name I am looking for and take a photo then upload to that request that I claimed. There are about a dozen people in Webster parish alone that do this. Its very satisfying to be able to help others.
Thanks again for joining my blog...check out the others if you have time.

  5. I don't like crows, but I think it looks fantastic. Truly.

And I hope your day went all right.

And I'm looking forward to seeing the new haircut. I just got a drastic cut and am not sure if I like it or if I look like a forty-eight year old David Cassidy.

  9. One of our cats got an abscess that we didn't even know about. Not only that but she is an indoor cat only so either her sister did it or we have no idea how it happened. The way we found out is she had been quite grumpy and irritable (she is not the friendly type anyway) and she came running onto our bed (which is high) and then this awful splat hit the sheets and floor and next was this awful smell!

Dear daughter who was a Vet. Tech. checked it out and thankfully she healed with no extra attention.

I hope that Norbert's abscess improves and goes away with the new medication.

Also....thinking of you as you head back to work...

  10. Hope you had a good day back at work. Sometimes it is helpful to get back into a routine. I really hope your kitty gets better soon. I bet a vet would work out a deal with you, so your kitty does not have to be in pain.

  11. Lots of changes for you.. blog makeover.. new hairdo.. going back to work. They all sound like positive moves. The blog looks great and I'm sure your hair does too.

I hope Norbert is feeling better before too long. The infection sounds nasty and he might need some heavier duty antibiotics to clear it up and ease his pain.

  12. love the new look. When my kids were younger I loved watching them get together and get along. It was usually when they didn't realize I was around. funny huh.
