Home from the dentist. Does anyone actually like going to the dentist? Probably not. I shouldn't complain because I know all the people that work there and seeing everyone is actually fun. My dentist has a wicked sense of humour and all his staff are so nice and caring. But getting my teeth cleaned...not much fun. Every time I go I end up getting a headache and an upset stomach. First World Problem, I know. Anyway, they are clean again and I won't have to go for another 9 months.

My back is much improved today. Yay for that!

I am pretty sure my kids are trying to drive me crazy. On purpose. I just told my son to take some Vitamin D and Magnesium and the whole process took about 20 minutes.

I hate to say it but it is the time of the year when I need to start Christmas shopping. I like to have all my shopping done by December 1st and since I do all my shopping online I need to get at it. Malls and introverts do not mix. It means having to be around other people. I like ordering online because not only does it come right to my door but it is usually considerably cheaper. And then I only have to talk to the UPS man and he is usually in such a hurry the conversation is limited to a few words. It is even better when it is just dropped off at my door.

It is also that time of the year when I am using my SAD light and making sure everyone in the house is taking Vitamin D. It is 4:39 pm here and it is getting dark. Stupid Daylight Savings.

A couple weeks back it seemed that the Black Dog was coming to visit but he seems to have disappeared again. Fall and winter is his favourite time so I am going to have to do all I can to keep him away. Sometimes he shows up no matter how hard you try to keep him away.

Ok, I have laundry to fold.

  1. It feels good to get the dentist over with, doesn't it? I'm glad that depression has not settled in. Good for you!

That's the best smile face I could to in celebration of your back feeling better. I don't have the raw talent like you do for this text art.

  6. Yay! I like to have my shopping done by dec. 1st too! I'm starting to put together some ideas and may go into the city this week and see what I can tackle.

Make sure to take your glasses off and get as much of that light into your eyes as you can. Here's to cheer!

  7. Not a fan of dentists here either. Or Christmas shopping. And don't want to think about either of them today. Denial - not just a river in Egypt.

  8. I'm with you, Birdie. I refuse to set foot in a mall after Dec 1st. I'm trying to do a lot of my Xmas shopping on the internet too this year. Amazon, here I come!

  9. It helps if you have a friendly and understanding dentist, but it's never going to be a fun experience!

I'm glad the black dog wandered off. Make sure you don't still have any biscuits in your pocket to attract him back!

  10. Good for being so organised. I'll do a little this month too now you've brought it to my attention. Dentist's.. expensive but necessary from time to time. Don't enjoy it either, but will gratefully run there if I have a toothache

    Have a nice day Birdie

  11. I'm on my way to the best this morning. Not my favourite place. But the staff is really nice and the majority of the time the cleaning process is easy.

I used to start Christmas shopping really early, but now I don't. There aren't that many people on my list anymore, and it doesn't take long to get it over with.

As for malls, I only go there in the mornings when it's still quiet. And never on weekends!

  12. Dentists have the highest suicide rate of any medical professionals. Their field is the most unappreciated and people express hatred of them very often.

  13. I also LOVE shopping online. I can say I haven't been in a shopping mall for 7 years or so.

I gets dark early here too. I hate it because I used to love sitting outside in the evening before dark.

Set a bear trap for that ol' Black Dog. Works for me.

  14. It's not fun, but I really like my dentist and his hygenist. Makes the visit bearable. The fact that he gives me a goodie bag as I'm leaving doesn't hurt. Who doesn't like a new toothbrush and a pack of flossers?

  15. Glad you're feeling better. I feel the same way about malls. While I love the holidays, I HATE the mall and the people and the chaos!

I consider online shopping my gift to myself.

  16. I hope he stays away!

I have to go to the dentist every three months because I have had gum issues. The scraping gives me a face headache.
