Home Hardware Mocks Me!

This is what I woke up to this morning. An e mail from Canada's largest chain of hardware stores. Do you see how they are getting their little jab in? They are advertising Canadian Thanksgiving. A meat thermometer. A thermal gravy boat. And this little nugget. A smoke alarm! They obviously know how me and my sister cook. It is outright mockery. What I would like to know is how they know. Bastards. Just see if I ever invite any of them to Thanksgiving dinner.
Last night I ended up in emergency. The Ventolin was not working. I was taking a puff an hour and still coughing and gasping. My husband drove me to emergency and I got more Ventolin. I also got another prescription for Ventolin plus Flovent and Prednisone. This morning I am still having a lot of trouble but if I stay still and not talk I am OK. Not talk! bwhahaha! Let's just say my husband is going to have a quiet very day for once.
Be gentle with yourself. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better very soon. Be careful(don't you just hate being told to be careful?)
ReplyDeleteYour comment about the smoke alarm made me laugh a lot. Thanks for that. xx
Subtle, Home Hardware. Real subtle. I hope all the new meds do the trick!
ReplyDeleteOh I hate smoke detectors! David installed on in the Media room (where our TV and computers are) and when I cooked or baked that thing would go off all the time. Apparently you could set the sensitivity on it and David put it on high. It was a joke on me.
ReplyDeleteTake good care of yourself dear. I'm trying to fight a chest cold. It's been 9 years since I had one.
I have great faith that you will not burn the turkey.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!!
Take care. And lots of it. You are important.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!!!...about the smoke alarm..
ReplyDeleteBOOOOO....about your breathing...
Take care of yourself...
Wish I could do a fancy doodly thingy for you...
But...
I can't...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Hope you are breathing easier today. My entire family cooks in a similar manner. That's why my parents decided to try deep frying their turkeys at Thanksgiving. At least if if a fire starts - it's out there in the yard!
ReplyDeleteSorry your breather isn't working properly... hopefully you will begin to feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI burn everything. There's no real need to test our smoke alarm because it gets a work out every morning :)
Oh my and good heavens, eh. Watch out for those Canadians and their implying about you and your sister's cooking! :)
ReplyDeleteGood to let the world know, however, that Canada also has a Thanksgiving. I should know.
Now then, stay quiet and look after YOU.
Gary
Breathe easy and plot revenge. This post is good start. I have been known to set off the smoke alarm with my culinary prowess. Strangely enough, it did NOT go off that time I left the cardboard circle under the frozen pizza.
ReplyDeleteEek! Hope you are ok. Less of a reason to cook, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI hate my smoke alarm, it goes off when I boil water.
ReplyDeleteBut anyway, hope you feel better.
Make sure you take care of you. Sorry it's so bad right now.
ReplyDeleteJust so you know, my husband swears I use our smoke detector as a timer. ;)
Feel Better!

I wonder if it's the time of year.... I had the worst asthma attack I've had for ages last weekend. And I have no idea why. Take care. It's scary when you can't breathe and it feels like you'll cough till you throw up. I know. I'd offer a hug - but your lungs probably need a bit of space. xx
ReplyDeleteMy kids will be on their own this year for thanksgiving, since we are planning to be at Sea World that day. I have sort of mixed feelings about this.
ReplyDeleteI love Home Hardware.
My partner has spent 30 years on ventolin. It can be a real life saver! Look after yourself. In other words stay away from the cooker!
ReplyDeleteI have not been checking blogs lately. My daughter and myself both have asthma and lately my daughter has been worried sick from the fear of getting Oral Thrush from the inhaler she is using.
ReplyDeleteHope that your breathing is better today. It is one of those things people don't get to see how we suffer when we get asthma attacks. I know because I get them. Fear and apprehension make it work. Find a mantra and tell your self, things will be ok. This helps for me and ofcourse medicine does too.
