Do you ever try to come up with sentences that have never been written before on the internet? A sentence nobody has ever thought of before? "A Nice Day With Peeing." According to Google I am the only one who ever wrote those 5 words together before.
And you know what? It was a nice day with peeing! The UTI still continues to linger and the washroom calls every 20 minutes but it is warm and sunny outside (11 C./52 F.). My 16 year old daughter made me proud because she was just heading out the door in a low-cut shirt then went back into her bedroom to change on her own accord. I had not noticed what she was wearing but she is a sensible girl. Some of you may roll your eyes but my rule is no-cleavage or mid-rifs until she is 18. Why? Because I want her to form her personality on who she is on the inside and not on her body. Fortunately, her school has a similar dress code so she never had a chance to go behind my back and change at school. It seems wherever I look now young girls as young as 12 showing cleavage. How about you? Do you or did you have rules in your house with regards to clothes?
Nap. I had the most delicious one! Maybe it will be time to bring out my Outside Bed soon. Well, maybe that is wishful thinking but it is nice to think about.
Spring Break here in my part of the world. Nothing planned and I love it that way.

Naps are good. Very good.
ReplyDeleteMy school had a rule about what underwear we should wear. On one never to be forgotten day all the girls were lined up in the quadrangle and had to lift our skirts to display our knickers. And rather a lot of the male students were lining the windows in the surrounding buildings. An epic fail.
teenagers will always experiment with their styles and image for sure, but I support schools that ensure skirts that are too short, are not allowed.
ReplyDeleteLength of skirts was the big deal for my school days as well as my daughter's. Thankfully for my daughter I did not have to deal with cleavage or navel. Granddaughters are another matter. But overall they seem fairly practical in their choices though some of their friends are a bit liberal in their choices.
ReplyDeleteThat bed looks so inviting. I love the way you create around your home and garden, you really have a unique and individual style. I'd forgotten your preference for sleeping outside, oh I wish I could come to stay at yours and be your older adopted child. Lol
ReplyDeleteThat guidance your give your daughter is such a valuable gift. She knows she has choices and does not have to follow the masses. She also knows she has value as a human being and this is not based on her sexual identify as a woman.
Have a great weekend and Happy Spring.
ReplyDeleteI just love a nice day with peeing. It's the little things.
ReplyDeleteNo cleavage was never a problem with Katie but with her sister it was. Her sister ran away at the age of fifteen and only agreed to come home if all rules were relaxed. I had already lost my son at the point and was not about to lose another child. All rules were relaxed, she came home drunk every night for months but she was safe. She dropped out of school, generally fucked around but she was safe.
ReplyDeleteAnd now, she's a hard working, lovely young woman. I'm thankful and lucky.
I hope that you feel one hundred percent better. It is nice to empty your bladder.
ReplyDeleteKudos to your sixteen year old for her choice of the style of clothes.
Nap is something I have been longing for..
Enjoy the day.
One point for the original sentence! Sorry to hear the UTI is still hanging on.
ReplyDeleteI had a nap today too but now I can't sleep. LOL! You would think I would know better than to take a nap after supper.
The outside bed is something I covet.
ReplyDeleteBTW.... You're one of only two people to use the phrase "ditching the black dog".
ReplyDeleteDefinitely haven't said "it's a nice day with peeing." Though I have said "it's a good pee day." My parents never really policed what we wore, they left that to siblings who didn't hesitate to shame one another into changing.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice day with peeing.... That's pure poetry in my book. How come I didn't think of that one? I don't have a daughter myself but I'm pretty sure cleavage before the age of 21 (30?) would upset her old man.
ReplyDeleteWe did have rules. My dad was reasonable about it but I also didn't want to dress like I was walking the streets when I was still watching cartoons.
ReplyDeleteOMG, your title made me laugh!
PS Love the drawing on my post! How did you do that?
ReplyDeleteWe put an outdoor bed outdoors lol during the summer! I love it.....so much cooler and I love hearing the night noises in the nearby woods.
ReplyDeleteAh crap, stupid UTIs. The doctors did do a culture for you right? That should tell them specifically which antibiotics would work (if they didn't do a culture and are just guessing based on symptoms, dump them!). And I so agree with your dress rules -- modesty, and the value of character, rather than externals, is so very important. Trust you are doing super, dear friend.
