It is. It is still snowing. It is supposed to keep snowing. I have not been out in my car for 3 days because yes, I don't know how to drive in the snow. That is not exactly true. I learned to drive in the snow but I don't know how to avoid a 2000 pound vehicle coming at me. That is not exactly true either. I don't want to have to get to the point of avoiding a 2000 pound vehicle coming at me!
Fortunately, I have spring flowers that my sister dropped by for my birthday. And I don't have to go anywhere. I am needing some groceries but they can wait. And I have the birds coming to the feeder. They have brought me to much joy over the last few years.
And I always have my crystals that look pretty in the window. We also have a gas fireplace that keeps us warm and toasty. And everyone is home and I am not worrying.
I have 2 teenagers that can be forced are more than willing to keep the driveway clear and bring in the garbage and recycling cans.
According to the weather network this snow is supposed to turn to rain but they have been saying that for 3 days. I feel bad for my kids because the snow started on Saturday and today was a professional day so they have not actually had a "snow day". Poor babies.
Norbert has never seen this much snow and is really enjoying sitting in the window and wishing the death of birds. Bad cat. He is not trying to get outside.
Update - We just received an e mail from the school. No school tomorrow. That means I can sleep in! woooot!
We're going back into the friggin deep freeze here. But it's still better than having to shovel snow!
ReplyDeleteDebra is right, the deepest of deep freezes. I'd trade it for the snow though. I'd totally drive you around in that shit, I'm good in the snow. Lol!
ReplyDeleteUgh, sorry to hear about that. I think I'll be joining you this week in the frozen-house-bound situation. We're expecting an ice storm on Wednesday here too. I suddenly have a vehement interest in your Spring Countdown Clock.
ReplyDeleteSmiles. Your flowers look brilliant and I would like to join Norbert sitting in the window admiring the snow and the birds - though my bird watching motives would be a tad different.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your rest tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI grew up with a lot of snow and now live in a place that doesn't get snow, true snow. I really miss it. Something about the snow makes the child in me sing. Enjoy the respite it is providing you. Let the magic of it all in.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I love the quote by Linda Hogan. She is such a great author; another one of my favorite poets and writers.
Hooray for sleeping in! That sounds exactly like what hit us a couple of weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteHere in my part of Southern BC my kids have never had a snow day. It's not like it hasn't snowed lots in the past it's just because we have lots of plows and sand/salt trucks to get the job done. Enjoy your snow day.
ReplyDeleteSleeping in is always nice. I hope that you feel rested today.
ReplyDeleteWe do not have any snow as yet today but they are saying we will get some in the afternoon. We literally had just about three days without snow, Still mountains like snow banks are challenging us. Little bit of rain we had did not even put a dent in them. Go figure.
I an happy for your kids too. They deserve a snow day. They sound like very good kids.
Birdfeeders are great! They really are a remarkable source of joy.
ReplyDeleteI just bought some hyacinths for the kitchen. Like your flowers, they remind me of spring (and they smell amazing -- help to mask whatever gross smells the farting kitten is emitting, too!).
My mother has bird feeders, and she likes idling away her time watching them, and so do I when I visit! She has regular birds visiting and nesting in her garden. We haven't had snow yet here in England, plenty of rain though! Sorry for all the snow you've been getting, cooping you up!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
Interesting. I don't mind driving in snow - but walking on it terrifies me!
ReplyDeleteWe were actually teased with a week of Spring. Then winter cold returned and even snow is predicted again. It is not nice for Mother Nature to dangle carrots and then jerk them away.
ReplyDeleteI envy you sooooo much! You lucky dog! I love the snow. Winter is one of my most favorite seasons besides Autumn. The flowers look very pretty in the window.
ReplyDeleteMy days of sleeping in are long gone, but it is a nice feeling to know that you haven't got to go out for the day. But not too many days! Here in the UK we've had no snow so far this year, but made up for it with rain!
ReplyDeleteActually, isn’t lots of snow a wonderful excuse for sitting indoors and looking out, not doing anything much else?
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of snow. It looks similar to what we have around here. We had one good day on Sunday, and now we're back in the deep freeze. I am totally beaten down by this winter. Hiss....
ReplyDeleteWe've never had snow before... so we've pretty much lived our lives without experiencing the white thing. I like the crystals... you might even want to care for fishes too.. let's see how Norbert deal with them. Hahaha. It's nice that the kiddies have finally gotten their "snow day" break. Hot cocoa anyone?
