My lovely daughter received some exciting news this afternoon. She has been Highland dancing since she was little but last year she had to give it up because her teacher retired without telling us. My daughter was heartbroken. She had been getting ready to go to Scotland for the world championships. This afternoon I received an e mail inviting her to be a part of a Highland dancing team for advanced Highland dancers. Yay!
It is almost time to cook dinner and I am just not in the mood. If I won the lottery I would hire a cook. However, since I don't even buy tickets I will take myself to the kitchen and stare into the fridge like a teenager and hope something appears.

good for your daughter!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your snow! I don't think we'll get any down here this year; it's going to be 78 on Saturday. And how exciting for your daughter! A family trip to Scotland sounds wonderful! Don't stare into your fridge with the door open for too long; whenever I do that, usually the only thing that appears is two big black Puss'n Boots eyes glaring back out at me.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your snow too. It looks so pretty outside your window. I really like the photo of your mother, and the pressed leaf from the spot you were married. Such wonderful memories to cherish.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your daughter - I hope that she (and you) do go to Scotland.
I'm glad that your daughter will have the opportunity to pursue her highland dancing, och aye.
ReplyDeleteWell that's a window!
ReplyDeleteI have a picture of my parents that must be from when they were dating, so late '40's. It sits on our living room bookcase and I love it.
That is exciting news for your daughter. Congrats to her.
I'm totally jealous, I want to go there!
ReplyDeleteYay for snow! And I do the staring thing every night. Sometimes I go through periods when I just don't want to cook. Like, at all!
