I am finding that the day after I work nights I am so tired.  I just want to go back to bed and sleep.  Maybe I will.

Right now I am watching a bird fly over and over at my front room window.  I wonder if there used to be a nest above the window.  I hope she doesn't hurt herself.  Maybe I should go buy some bird houses.  OK, I just closed the curtain a little and she seems to have stopped.

Last night I went out for sushi with some friends from work.  It was fun!  I don't have fun often enough these days. This week I finally get to go back to the sleep clinic and see if a CPAP machine will work.  I sure hope it does.  I am so tired of being tired.  I am still trying to figure out why the doctor thinks I need one.  I am about 20 pounds overweight but I have been tired since I was about 20 and I was tiny back then.  In fact, the tech at the clinic said I was very small compared to most of the patients that he sees.  Anyway,  I don't know.  All I know for sure is the doctor said I wake up on average every 45 seconds and my legs move a lot (it is not "restless legs syndrome).  If you know anything about these machines let me know.

OK, I am going back to bed to read my book and maybe have a delicious nap!

  1. Did you ever have mono? I ask that because I had it very badly as a teenager and I think I am always more tired than I should be.
I don't really know much about the CPAP machine but I would hope very much that it helps you.

  2. Hi Birdie .. I was listening to a doctor today about insomnia .. he just said (he suffers) it's the brain .. no stimulants before sleep, relax as much as you can - for you 'no worry'! .. eat well ... ie veg and fruits main;y .. well you know more than I do .. you have to peel your own layers again - it's up to you .. very difficult - but if you can step away - boy oh boy .. do you feel better.

I know I got rid of stress and anxiety 20 years ago or so .. and it's made me a lot less frenetic and I can only do what I do ..

Do what you need to do .. and don't worry about the rest .. so pleased you had a good time with your friends .. cheers Hilary

  3. Are you sleeping with the Ungrateful Bastard? When I sleep with my cats it's not a quality sleep.

  5. Birdie, my partner started using a Cpap machine a few years ago and it has made such a difference in both our lives. He was not getting any REM sleep and was tired all the time, no matter when he went to bed he never felt rested. After a few months with the machine we noticed he had more energy and wasn't napping in the daytime plus he doesn't snore so I get more sleep and in a better mood;)It wasn't easy at first for him to get use to sleeping with a face mask on and a hose attached, rolling over was a pain in the arse. I know the cost was quite a bit but I think you can rent the machine to try and buy your own mask to see if it works for you. Good luck.

  7. Mmm... sushi. Glad you had fun.

I don't know anything about CPAP machines but my cousin seemed to be helped by whatever one he was using.
