Just Another Manic Monday

I could write a very long and drawn out post about the hell I have had to go through to get my 15 year old daughter a passport but I won't.  All I will say it today alone I had to drive 8 hours and at one point drove down the wrong way down a own way street.  Oh, and at one point I got my car up to 130 km/hour.  It was the suggested speed.  Yes, I was the one who suggested it and so that is how fast I went. I am sure the R.C.M.P. would have frowned on me going that fast but, oh well.  The actual limit was 110 so I was only just a little bit over and there were people that were passing me.  Anyway, after all that we still don't have the passport.  It may be a shock to know this but my 15 year old daughter is not a terrorist.

Here is something that pissed me off.  In the middle of my 8 hour drive we had to stop for something to eat.  I stopped at Tim Hortons and ordered a simple turkey panini.  That is a good choice, right? Wrong. 15 points!  I can have 26 in one day so that it way over the top. I am down another pound this week so that is good.

In other news.  The Canadian mint will no longer be distributing the penny.  That means every purchase should be rounded up or down to the nearest nickel but we all know that it actually means that it will just be rounded up.  I have no energy to give a shit.

Well, I am tired, hungry and cranky so I am off to bed.

  2. In the post 9-11 world, my 15 year old son required extra screening at airports because we have a common last name. It was ridiculous.
Hope that passport thing gets worked out soon.

There was an attempt in the states to abolish the penny, which costs a nickel to make, but common sense did not prevail. I'm sure prices would round up too, though.

Hope today is better than yesterday.

  4. Now I'm kicking myself for letting my own passport expire! Who knows when I may feel the need to a jet off to some exotic locale? I had no idea it was such a difficult process to obtain another one.

I haven't been brave enough to try Skyping as of yet; I am not a fan of how I appear on camera much less a live video feed.

I love Grumpy Cat! Other than Colonel Meow and Maru she is my favorite internet celebrity kitty!

General Beauregard Lee didn't see his shadow down here either so six more weeks of winter for us too blah!

  5. There are those who believe that all 15 year olds are terrorists. Sadly, these people seem to be in charge!

Will you miss the one cent piece? I think I'd miss our penny, even though it won't buy you anything and falls out of your purse faster than any other coin!

  8. I need to check our passports, if they run out and I have to fill out that mountain of paperwork again, I may look like a terrorist with the freak out I'll have.

Slow down. I drive like Mr. Magoo.
