I clicked a button on Blogger and everything has gone all nutty. I have no idea how to get it back to normal. Bah. I am too tired to get it back. I am going to go have a nap before work. Incidentally, I do believe I work with the laziest person on the planet. She told me she likes the night shift because it is quiet and she can smoke. Yeah. Oh, don't forget that she can sleep for half her shift. Now she has me to do her work. Normally I would not do it but I really love what I do. She does not like any of the elderly people she cares for. In my opinion it is better she stays away. I am honoured to care for people in a way she can't or won't.
OK, now for a nap.
hmmm your blog looks "normal" to me... maybe it has self-healed?
ReplyDeletei managed night shifts for years... first as a nurse, then as an emergency dispatch operator... unfortunately i found that there are many people working nights because of the lighter work load, absence of management folks, and the ability to sneak off and sleep or participate in other activities otherwise forbidden by the employer....
bleh...
it's so good that you love your job and find honor in caring for the elderly... they are a group of very wise and enlightened beings (well, mostly)
Yeah, your blog appears normal.
ReplyDeleteMany people will cherish the love and care you give to them.

How lucky are those in your care.
ReplyDeleteThere will always be people who sponge off others. Be proud of the fact that you work hard and well.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the people in your care appreiate you.
Good Lord! Sorry about your coworker. Mostly sorry FOR your coworker who probably doesn't think much of herself.
ReplyDeleteI have a few problems with blogger but yours looks normal
ReplyDeleteI Thank You for taking care of our elderly...I know night shift is tough since Hubs works it
Yeah Your blog appears normal as everyone said.... but I remember that happened to me once and I so wanted the old setting back... I am not sure how I did it... there is an icon somewhere that takes you back to your original setting... it is in the new interface section... maybe you clicked that by mistake????
ReplyDeleteAnyway... I too feel sorry for your coworker... she is missing getting in touch with the people on a genuine and personal level... they have so many stories to tell... a lifetime worth of stories. But these people are lucky to have you care for them.
The slacker you work with is a reminder to all of us:
ReplyDeleteANYONE CAN GET A JOB.
That should be encouraging. It's also a sad reminder that people get away with plenty. Which must mean the economy isn't so bad or they would have been rooted out by now...
Hang in there, friend.
Your blog looks great now. I am so glad that those elderly folks have someone as kind and loving as you to care for them. Hugs, Mina
ReplyDeleteNight shift sleeping has been a concern of mine with my mom. I can't prove it but my mom's housekeeper said the night shift caregiver does sleep on the couch. This was brought up because the decorative shades upstairs are now broken as the caregiver worries "someone" can see her when she is sleeping. May I add that know one can see her except the incredible view of San Francisco and I suppose someone with a telescope!
ReplyDeleteWhen my mom paces all night I am secretly smiling because then I know that caregiver is working! Thank you Mom!
Grateful their are caregivers like you who genuinely care for their patients.
Hope that whatever issue is going on with blogger is resolved
Seems there are quite a few people who have found ways to collect a full check but work half a shift. Sad. I'm sure your patients are happy to have you.
ReplyDeleteIt messes up sometimes just have to wait for the servers to fix themselves sometimes cool blog btw following!
