- Saw a man walking up the road dressed in red spandex from head to toe pushing a shopping cart full of cans.
- Called the vet regarding the cat in my previous post. They got a hold of the owners.
- I got a new phone. It is a land line and has a cord. I don't know what most of the features are for.
- Picked my kids up as school. Last day!
- Took my kids to an eye appointment. My daughter decided to get contacts instead of glasses.
- Made "compost tea". It consists of putting finished compost into an old pillow-case, letting it sit overnight in a large bucket of water. It is supposed to be very good for vegetables. Will see.
- Went out for Indian food but felt ripped off because I wanted the owner to be more like Babu Bhatt.
- For some unknown reason I am grieving the loss of my mom. Time is not healing. I just miss her more.
- I ate a banana. I hate bananas.
- Norbert (the Ungrateful Bastard) is grounded for killing birds. He is not allowed to go outside after 4:00 in the afternoon as it is his witching hour.
- My fiancé wants me to stomp on any carpenter ants that I see but I feel terrible any time I kill anything. I wonder if I can set up an ant relocation program? I guess they will just find their way back. *sigh*

You could spend the rest of your life stomping ants and it wouldn't do a thing to eliminate ant-life. But if you don't want to, don't do it!
ReplyDeleteGlad the cat is back with its owners!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear about the cat. I am terrified of ants but that cartoon is cute!
ReplyDeleteI loved the list and had to laugh at your sense of humor behind each task. Those carpet ants, on another note...yea, they have to go!
ReplyDeletestomp away! I find the crunch rather satisfying. My son was quite artistic as a kid but also had a sense of humour. My favourite picture he made was of a giant shoe about to crush an unwitting ant. Life is fraught with danger.
ReplyDeleteBabu was one of my favourite recurring characters in Seinfeld. I loved the finger.. shown just as it is in the image.. back and forth.. "you're a very bad man, a very bad man."
ReplyDeleteANTarctica cracked me up.
Well at least I'm not the only one who feels guilty for killing bugs. I admit that fire ants don't get much of my sympathy however. I'm glad the kitty will be reunited with his/her family.
ReplyDeleteA phone with a cord? That's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour mom... give yourself time. It won't go away anytime soon. and it won't go away completely, but... just give yourself more time, Birdie.
Love Seinfeld!! Ant block it comes in a jug from Home Depot they cary it away and blam you just don't see them anymore and the pets don't bother with it or you smell it. I wish you comfort for your loss of your mom I know there isn't enough words to help that hurt but know I do care and wish your hurt to lessen :))
ReplyDeleteoh gosh thank you I needed that giggle
ReplyDeletePoor Norbet
as i began reading your bullets, and came to the compost tea... i began to sweat a little bit... i was thinking... oh man, birdie's lost it...
ReplyDeletethen i continued reading and saw it's for the garden hahahahahaha
glad they located the kitty owner's although i hope the owner's are happy about the found kitty and not the sort that will dump the poor soul....
What a busy day, Birdie. I am so glad the cat is back to his home. Oh, I have the same problem with Herger. Moles, birds, baby rabbits. The only problem is, he will not use a litter box and will only potty outdoors. Since I cannot ask him his intentions, I let him out every time he goes to the door.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we ever stop missing those we love. We just accept their absence and try to focus on the beauty we had with them. Hugs, sweetie. Mina
Glad the cat has been returned to his/her owners. Yes me too - compost tea(I was thinking UGH!) - however I recall hearing about it before so my brain knew it wasn't for human comsumption. My brain just saw the word TEA and that was it! Visions of you pouring a nice cuppa compost tea were flooding my mind! Yes you wil miss your Mum forever darling. I love the ant cartoon, did you create that? Bless you for thinking about the tiny ant. xx
ReplyDeleteMy mom's been gone ten years and I still miss her. You don't get over the loss, but you do get used to it. Easier to tolerate as the years pass....
